Professional History

Consulting and Forensic Engineer - 1979 to Present

Inspection of commercial and residential buildings.
Engineering inspections are performed of commercial buildings under construction and existing buildings being rehabilitated or maintained.  Foundations, structural framing, mechanical systems, electrical systems, exterior and interior finish elements and site drainage systems are inspected for compliance with the building code and local practices.

Reserve studies with 20-year financial forecasts are prepared for buildings.  These studies include site inspections to determine the quantities, condition and remaining life of the building elements.  Replacement schedules are prepared for planning the cash flow of replacement expenses compared to the anticipated annual income contributions to the reserve fund.

Expert witness testimony is provided in legal cases involving improper construction methods and materials in District Court and Circuit Court.

Structural engineering evaluations and designs are preformed for repair of existing buildings.  This design work includes foundation underpinning and framing reinforcement or replacement.  New building structural design of foundation and framing systems is also provided.
